Cool, refreshing, and packed with tropical flavor, this Alcohol-Free Piña Colada combines creamy coconut, pineapple juice, and fresh lime for an easy mocktail recipe perfect for summer parties, backyard entertaining, or happy hour at home.

Alcohol Free Piña Colada
It is hard to imagine long summertime days lazing by the pool without a refreshing tropical drink.
What a cruel world that would be, right?
So, to assist you with your summer relaxing sessions, we have made our Virgin Pina Colada cocktail for your enjoyment.
We’re taking what we know about the classic pina colada and mixing it up to create a pina colada mocktail.

Here’s What You Need To Make Our Piña Colada
Ice. For this recipe, start with cubes of clear ice.
Unsweetened Coconut Milk. Coconut milk is the perfect non-dairy ingredient to use for this recipe—coconut milk also helps build a smooth and creamy texture.
REAL Cream of Coconut. I love this brand because their cream of coconut is the best I have ever had; it’s creamy and loaded with a sweetness that is bursting with fresh coconut flavor.
Pineapple Juice. You can’t have a pina colada without pineapple. Grab pineapple juice to add the perfect amount of pineapple flavor to this fruity tropical drink.
Coconut Syrup. You can usually find coconut syrup in one or two places in your local grocery store. It may be stocked in the coffee and tea aisle next to other flavored syrups, and you may also find it near the alcohol at your grocery or liquor store.
Lime Juice. I recommend using fresh lime juice; its tartness balances the sweetness of this deliciously summery mocktail.
Wedge of Fresh Lime. Pineapple Leaves & Pineapple Chunks. A few of these garnishes —the wedge of lime and the pineapple — add flavor and visual interest; the pineapple leaves just look cool. Thread all three on a bamboo cocktail stick, and you’ve got yourself an absolutely stunning mocktail!

How to make our Alcohol-free Piña Colada
Ingredients:
1 Serving
- 1 cup of ice
- 2 ounces unsweetened coconut milk
- 2 ounces Real cream of coconut
- 2 ounces of pineapple juice
- 1-ounce coconut syrup
- 1/2 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
- pineapple leaf garnish
- pineapple chunk garnish
- lime wedge garnish
* If making a cocktail, add the ingredients below to the mix
- 1 ounce of white rum
- 1 ounce of coconut-infused rum liqueur
- 1/2 ounce dark rum

Directions:
- Add ice cubes, unsweetened coconut milk, cream of coconut, pineapple juice, coconut syrup, and freshly squeezed lime juice into a cocktail shaker tin.
- Secure the cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for thirty seconds (30).
- Strain into a chilled serving glass.
- Garnish with a wedge of lime, a pineapple chunk, and a single pineapple frond threaded on a cocktail stick.
- Serve.

Tips For Success
- Making sure all your ingredients are chilled will help ensure the piña colada is nice and cold. This will help prevent the ice from melting as fast.
- Add an additional splash of pineapple juice for a thinner texture.
- Use a high-speed blender to ensure all the ingredients get nicely blended.
- If you want a little pop of color, add a maraschino cherry to the cocktail stick along with the pineapple and lime.
- This refreshing drink can be made in a tall glass, a hurricane glass, or a shorter glass; any will work!

Is coconut cream the same as coconut syrup?
The two ingredients are not the same—coconut syrup is a sweetened simple syrup, whereas coconut cream is thicker, sweeter, and has a creamy coconut texture.

Where can I purchase cream of coconut?
You can order a bottle of Real Coconut online, and you should be able to find it at your local grocery store.
Depending on how your store is set up, it may be in the baking aisle or the liquor aisle.
Can I use Coconut Water instead of Coconut Milk?
This delicious mocktail is made with coconut milk, which adds flavor and creates a smooth, creamy texture.
However, using coconut water would dilute this virgin piña colada recipe, making it taste watery.

Can I use frozen pineapple instead of fresh pineapple?
For this recipe, I would recommend using fresh pineapple or canned pineapple.
If you are making a frozen piña colada, the frozen pineapple would probably be a good choice.

Can I use a piña colada mix?
If your goal is to keep this drink alcohol-free, make sure you are using a pina colada mix that does not contain alcohol as an ingredient.
Piña colada mixes that contain alcohol will be clearly labeled with the APV acronym (APV = Alcohol Per Volume).

What kind of alcohol can I use to make this mocktail into a cocktail?
A classic Piña Colada cocktail combines white and dark rum; some Piña Colada recipes also include liqueurs.
I like to use all three—white rum, dark rum, and a bit of Caribbean rum infused with coconut liqueur.
I like to use a white rum instead of a darker rum.
It will add some flavor but not overtake the pineapple and coconut flavors.
