Grown-Up Chocolate Milk

Have you ever longed for the days of yore? A hankering for those long-ago years of carefree innocence and little responsibility. If your answer is yes, then you get me, you get me.

I’ve been thinking about my pre-teen days lately. How my mom would surprise us after school with fresh-baked cookies and milk, and sometimes she’d blow our minds by adding a squirt of Hershey’s Milk Chocolate syrup (talk about a majorly galactic sugar buzz!).

Good times for certain. And so I went about gathering a few choice ingredients from my growing stockpile of liquid goodies to re-create an adult version of this childhood memory.

Guaranteed, our Grown Up Chocolate Milk is going to make you feel young again, or maybe not. But it is out of this world, YUM! Check out the chocolaty recipe down yonder.

What You Will Need:

Godiva Chocolate Liqueur. This brings the deep chocolate flavor and sets the foundation. It’s smooth, rich, and not overly sharp.

Bailey’s Irish Cream Liqueur. Adds creamy sweetness and that signature Irish cream warmth that balances the chocolate.

Cinnabon Liqueur. The cinnamon roll moment. This is what gives the drink that bakery-style flavor without overpowering it.

Whole Milk. Helps lighten the texture and keeps the drink from becoming too thick.

Heavy Cream. Adds body and richness. Just enough to make it feel indulgent without crossing into milkshake territory.

Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup. You can swirl it inside the glass or add it directly into the shaker.

Marshmallow Creme. This is the over-the-top finish. A dollop on top makes it feel like a full dessert experience.

Ice. Use a full shaker of ice to chill and slightly dilute the cocktail properly.

 Ingredients for adult Chocolate Milk

1 serving

  • 1 ounce Godiva Chocolate Liqueur
  • 1 ounce Bailey’s Irish Cream Liqueur
  • 1 ounce Cinnabon Liqueur
  • 3 ounces Whole Milk
  • 1/2 ounce Heavy Cream
  • Marshmallow Creme

  • Ice Cubes

Directions:

Prep your glass: Drizzle Hershey’s chocolate syrup inside a rocks glass and swirl to coat.

  1. In a cocktail shaker, add 1 oz of Godiva, 1 oz of Bailey’s, 1 oz of Cinnabon Liqueur, 3 ounces of milk, 1/2 oz of heavy cream, and ice cubes.
  2. Shake vigorously for 15-25 seconds.
  3. Strain into a rocks whiskey glass.
  4. Top with marshmallow creme and a drizzle of Hershey’s milk chocolate syrup.
  5. Serve.

Drink responsibly and never drink and drive.

For an elevated touch, lightly torch the marshmallow creme until golden.

Cookies + Milk

Notes:

  • Best served as an after-dinner cocktail.
  • Rich and sweet, this is dessert in a glass.
  • If you prefer it less sweet, reduce the chocolate syrup and skip the marshmallow topping.

Can I Make This Alcoholic Chocolate Milk Ahead Of Time?

You can mix the liquid ingredients a few hours ahead and store them in the refrigerator. Shake with ice right before serving for the best texture and chill.

What If I Can’t Find Cinnabon Liqueur?

You can substitute a cinnamon whiskey liqueur, or add ¼ teaspoon of ground cinnamon and ¼ teaspoon of vanilla extract to maintain that cinnamon roll flavor profile.

Adult Drinks with milk

Is This Boozy Chocolate Milk Very Sweet?

Yes, this is a dessert cocktail. To reduce sweetness, cut the chocolate syrup in half and skip the marshmallow topping.

Can I Serve This As A Martini Instead Of On The Rocks?

Shake with ice and strain into a chilled martini glass instead of serving over ice for a smoother, more elegant presentation.

When it comes to my liquor tastes, I’m more of a straight up kinda girl; I’m not much of fruity or milky cocktails. That being said…Oh. My. Goodness. Gracious. Me. I TOTALLY get you and need this in my life ASAP! Possibly in blanket fort with a coloring book in front of me 😉
