Summertime calls for cocktails made by the dozen and infused with refreshing fruit-filled flavors.

This summer, we’re cooling off big time with our Watermelon Vodka Cocktail served with crushed blueberry honey syrup.

It’s the spiked fruit-flavored drink you need this summer. Cheers!

Watermelon Vodka Cocktail

This is an easy punch to pull together for backyard barbecues or an at-home party you’re planning this summer.

It doesn’t matter if it’s a girl’s or a boy’s night in. At an impromptu soirée, we got you covered with our Watermelon Vodka Cocktail!

I love this spiked punch because you can make it a day ahead and keep it in the fridge until your guests arrive.

Then it’s time to fill the cups with ice, pour the punch, and garnish with your choice of fresh fruit.

We used fresh watermelon, strawberries, and ripe, juicy blueberries on a cocktail stick.

This drink is visually appealing, and it tastes just as good as it looks.

What You Will Need To Make Our Watermelon Vodka Cocktail:

Red, White & Berry Vodka. I love this fruit flavor-infused vodka because it is perfect for creating some of the best summertime cocktails. During the warm weather months, I keep a bottle in the freezer on standby.

Watermelon Flavored Drink. This is my favorite watermelon drink for making both mixed drinks and non-alcoholic drinks for summertime entertainment. It’s not too sweet and has a legit watermelon flavor.

Blueberry Syrup. Fresh Blueberries, a Lemon & Honey. This spiked punch gets lots of summertime fruit flavor from fresh, ripe blueberries. I add blueberry syrup, fresh blueberries, and honey into the food processor and give it a quick pulse, no longer than ten seconds. I like some of the berries to retain their shape, and when spooned over the cocktail, they give the lucky recipient something sweet and fruity to munch on. Genius!

A Single Large Lemon. Adding the juice from a whole lemon gives this punch subtle citrus vibes.

Watermelon. Whole Blueberries. Strawberries. Fresh fruit is seldom a bad idea when it comes to summer cocktails. Our trio of fresh watermelon, blueberries, and strawberries adds all the summertime sweetness you’ll need.

8-10 Servings

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups of Smirnoff Red, White & Berry Vodka
  • 6 cups Tropicana Watermelon Drink

ingredients for Watermelon Vodka Punch

Garnish:

  • 8-10 fresh strawberries cut in half
  • 8-10 slices of watermelon
  • 8-10 blueberries

Watermelon Vodka Punch

Directions:

  1. Into a food processor, add the fresh blueberries, blueberry syrup, and honey, then pulse for 10 seconds. Pulsing the mixture briefly will ensure most of the blueberries remain mostly whole rather than completely macerated. Pour the blueberry mixture into a medium Mason-style jar, screw on the lid, and set it aside.
  2. Into a large pitcher, add the vodka, watermelon drink, and the juice of a large lemon. Stir vigorously for thirty to forty seconds.
  3. Fill 12-ounce party glasses with ice and pour the spiked vodka punch to the top. Spoon one to two tablespoons of the blueberry and honey mixture over the top.
  4. Garnish with a cocktail stick of watermelon, a half slice of a fresh strawberry, and juicy blueberries.
  5. Serve.

Pulsing the mixture briefly will ensure most of the blueberries remain mostly whole rather than completely macerated. Pour the blueberry mixture into a medium Mason-style jar, screw on the lid, and set it aside.
  2. Into a large pitcher, add a citrus-based non-alcoholic spirit, watermelon drink, and the juice of a large lemon. Stir vigorously for thirty to forty seconds.

Tips For Making This Watermelon Vodka Cocktail

  • To garnish, reach for ripe, brightly colored fruit. That way, it adds a nice pop of color and, if you or your guests eat it, it will taste amazing.
  • If you can’t find the red, white, and berry vodka, you can use classic vodka instead. It will reduce some of the flavors, but honestly, it will still be a refreshing party cocktail.
  • This makes 8-10 servings, but you are more than welcome to reduce the ingredients to make a single cup or double to serve an even larger crowd.
  • Swap the lemon with lime for a different twist of flavor.

What to use if I don’t have vodka?

If you don’t have vodka, or maybe don’t like vodka, a white rum or even tequila could be swapped in for the alcohol in this drink.

It will, of course, change the flavor just a bit, but it will still be very similar.

What to use instead of honey?

Go ahead and reach for agave to replace the honey if you would like.

You want a liquid, like sugar, that can lead to crystals in your drink that won’t melt away.

That will detract from the smooth, refreshing, fruity cocktail.

How to pick a ripe watermelon?

Are you looking to garnish with watermelon? Here are a few tips to help you pick a flavorful watermelon when you head out to the store or farmer’s market.

Pick up the melons and reach for one that is heavy for its size. You will also look for a yellow-brown spot where the vine was.

This means it ripened on the vine in the field. That is a must.

These two tips help set me up for success in getting a brightly colored watermelon that offers sweet flavor in every bite.

Can I make this cocktail in advance?

If you’re having a summer cookout or party and want to make this party punch in advance, go right ahead.

Just whip it up and store it in a pitcher in the fridge. Then add ice into the cups, pour, garnish, and serve.
