Ingredients

  • ice
  • 1 can of Cherry 7-Up
  • 1 oz of Grenadine
  • 1/4 cup of Pina colada mix
  • 1 cup of Blueberry Kool-Aid you can also use blue Gatorade or Blue Hawaiian juice
  • Cherries for a garnish

Instructions

  • Fill a large glass with large ice cubes.
  • Pour the Cherry 7-UP and 1 oz of grenadine mixture into the glass until it fills about 1/3 of the way. The grenadine gives it that bright red color.
  • Hold a spoon upside down just above the red layer and slowly pour the piña colada mix over the back of the spoon to create the white center layer. Fill another 1/3 of the glass.
  • Slowly pour the Blueberry Kool-Aid (or blue drink of choice) over the back of the spoon to create the blue top layer.
  • Garnish with cherries and add a festive star-and-stripe straw if desired.
  • Serve immediately before the layers start to combine.

Notes

Note: To successfully layer this drink, you will need a spoon.
  1. First, fill your glass of choice with ice.
  2. Next, fill about 1/3 of the cup with cherry soda and grenadine.
  3. Now, slightly angle your spoon into the glass with the backside facing up. Slowly pour the piña colada mix over the backside of the spoon and fill the glass about 1/3 of the way up.
  4. Using the same technique, slowly pour the blue Gatorade over the back of the spoon to finish off the layers.
  5. Garnish with a maraschino cherry and festive straw.
