This Cucumber Margarita Mocktail is light and crisp with fresh muddled cucumber, non-alcoholic tequila, and a sparkling light margarita finish.

This perfect summer mocktail is for hosting, happy hour, or relaxing on your porch.

Cucumber Margarita Mocktail

I love a good, refreshing mocktail, and this cucumber drink definitely checks all the boxes: it’s refreshingly delicious and stunning in style.

This Cucumber Margarita Mocktail is crisp, refreshing, and proof that mocktails do not have to be boring.

Fresh cucumber, citrus notes, and a sparkling light margarita finish come together for a drink that feels elevated enough for entertaining but easy enough to make on a random Tuesday afternoon.

One thing about us? We believe a good mocktail should feel just as intentional as any cocktail.

I mean, I don’t get how restaurants are charging $15 for a mocktail that’s just juice and a garnish, right?

slices of cucumber

What You Will Need:

Fresh cucumber slices. You’ll use the cucumber both inside the drink and inside the serving glass. The muddled cucumber adds fresh flavor, while the thin ribbon or slice in the glass gives the mocktail a cocktail-like feel.

Non-alcoholic tequila. This gives the drink that familiar margarita-inspired flavor profile without the alcohol. Choose a quality non-alcoholic spirit for the best balance. You can use a brand like Ritual Zero-proof agave spirit or Free Spirits n/a tequila.

Non-alcoholic orange liqueur. Adds citrus depth and helps round out the flavor, making the drink feel layered rather than flat. We used Dhos Triple Sec n/a liqueur. Our local Horrock’s Farmer’s Market has a growing selection of n/a spirits.

Cucumber syrup. Brings subtle sweetness and enhances the fresh cucumber flavor throughout the drink.

Q Sparkling Light Margarita Mix. We made this non-alcoholic drink using Q Mixer’s new Q SPARKLING LIGHT MARGARITA, which is just what we needed to bring balance to our cucumber drink.

With only 30 calories per serving and 6 grams of sugar, it’s the essential finish for this cucumber mocktail. It’s light, clean, and does the job without weighing the drink down.

How To Make A Cucumber Margarita Mocktail

1 serving

Ingredients:

  • 3 cucumber slices
  • fresh ice
  • 1/2 ounce non-alcoholic orange liqueur
  • 1/2 ounce cucumber syrup
  • 1 1/2 ounces non-alcoholic tequila
  • Q SPARKLING LIGHT MARGARITA

Directions:

  1. Prepare the glass. Hold the glass at an angle, rub a lime wedge on one side of the rim, then dip that section into coarse salt or Tajín to create a side rim. Press a thin cucumber slice along the inside of the glass, then fill with fresh ice to secure and chill.
  2. Muddle 3 fresh cucumber slices in a mixing tin or glass.
  3. Add ice.
  4. Add 1/2 ounce non-alcoholic orange liqueur, 1/2 ounce cucumber syrup, and 1 1/2 ounces of non-alcoholic tequila.
  5. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds.
  6. Strain into a prepared glass.
  7. Top with Q SPARKLING LIGHT MARGARITA
  8. Serve.

Tips For The Best Cucumber Margarita Mocktail

  • Use a fresh cucumber for the cleanest flavor.
  • Chill your glass before serving for an extra refreshing sip.
  • Double-strain the drink for a smoother finish.
  • Tajín adds a little heat and citrus flavor for an extra kick.
  • Add fresh lime juice if you prefer a brighter citrus flavor.

tips on making a side rim on a cocktail

What Does A Side Rim Mean?

A side rim applies salt or Tajín to only one section of the glass, rather than the entire rim.

This gives you more control over the salt content of each sip while keeping the drink balanced.

tips on finding cucumber syrup

Where To Find Cucumber Syrup?

We found cucumber syrup at one of our favorite local shops, Bradley’s HG. You can also order it online.

This brand, Bacanha, is a great quality brand for those unique syrup flavors.

Can I Make This Mocktail In Advance?

This drink is best when made fresh. In our opinion, since you are muddling cucumbers, it’s best to make it when you’re ready to serve.

However, you can prepare the cucumber mixture in advance and refrigerate it for a few hours.

Wait to add the sparkling margarita mixer until just before serving to keep the drink bubbly and fresh.

How To Make This Into A Cocktail

If you would like to make this cucumber drink as a cocktail, swap out the n/a spirits for your tequila and triple sec of choice.

best non-alcoholic tequila

What Is The Best Non-Alcoholic Tequila To Use?

Use a high-quality non-alcoholic tequila alternative with citrus, agave, or pepper notes for the best margarita-inspired flavor.

For this mocktail, we used SPIRITLESS – Jalisco 55 Distilled Non-Alcoholic Tequila Alternative.

We found it at our local Horrock’s Farmer’s Market grocery store.

Here are some other brands we love: Ritual Zero-proof agave spirit or Free Spirits n/a tequila.

Can I Make This For A Party?

Yes! Multiply the ingredients and serve the base mixture in a pitcher.

Add the sparkling margarita mixer individually to each glass right before serving.

As stated above, our preference is to make this drink right before serving.

how to make a cucumber mocktail drink for summer parties

The fresh cucumber keeps this drink cool and clean, while the sparkling margarita mixer adds brightness and a little bite.

The side rim of salt or Tajín gives you control over every sip without overpowering the drink.

Whether you’re hosting friends outdoors, planning a summer happy hour, or simply looking for a lighter mocktail option, this cucumber margarita deserves a spot on your warm-weather menu.

Now you have everything you need to make this refreshing cucumber drink.

Cheers!
