This holiday bark recipe is a staple we all seem to make. Make our Peppermint Bark recipe this holiday season; it’s super easy and requires just 4 ingredients.
A no-bake party peppermint bark- everyone will want a second piece.
White Chocolate Peppermint Bark Recipe
Here’s a quick, easy recipe for making peppermint bark.
You only need a few ingredients to make this bark.
Why is Peppermint Bark called bark?
Peppermint bark is a thin layer of chocolate topped with crushed candies, nuts, cookie crumbles, and more.
The name comes from thin tree bark you can peel off a tree and then break.
It is a figurative saying. No matter how or what you call this sweet chocolate bark, it is delicious.
How long will peppermint bark last
Peppermint bark will last up to two weeks after it is made.
It must be fully set, then transferred into an airtight container or bag. Or, to store it longer, toss leftovers in the freezer.
Peppermint chocolate bark will store for 3 months in the freezer.
I suggest breaking it apart before you freeze. So if you want just a piece or two, you can remove it from the freezer for a quick snack.
How to make Peppermint Bark
Ingredients:
- 11 oz White Baking Chips ( I used Ghirardelli)
- 11 oz Milk Chocolate Baking Chips ( I used Ghirardelli)
- 1/2 tsp Peppermint Extract
- 12 Candy Canes

Directions:
- Place Candy Canes in a Food Processor and crush them.
- Line a rimmed baking sheet (13×18) with parchment paper.
- Melt the Milk Chocolate in the microwave at 50% for 1 minute, stirring until smooth.
- Pour the milk chocolate into the pan and level it.
- Refrigerate for 20 minutes.
- Melt the White Chocolate in the microwave at 50% for 1 minute, stirring until smooth.
- Add Peppermint extract to the white chocolate.
- Pour the white chocolate into the pan and level it.
- Pour crushed peppermint over white chocolate.
- Place in refrigerator for 20 minutes.
Enjoy!!
Variations To Recipe
- In this recipe, I used white and milk chocolate. I created layers, but you can use a single type of chocolate if you prefer not to combine different chocolates.
- Add other toppings, crushed nuts, dried cranberries, mini M&Ms, etc.
- You can add peppermint extract to the milk chocolate to give the chocolate itself a mint flavor if you don’t want to top it with crushed peppermint. This will give it a lot of creamy texture.
- Sprinkle with festive sprinkles while the chocolate is wet for more color.
Can I use almond bark to replace chocolate chips?
I used baking chips in my recipe. If you don’t want to and prefer almond bark, go ahead.
Almond bark melts super creamy and sets in about 5 minutes.
The biggest thing with almond bark is to sprinkle peppermint on quickly after you spread it, or it will set, and your mint won’t stick in the chocolate.

I just had peppermint bark (Ghirardelli) for the first time and I loved it. Now I’m on a mission to make some and so far I’ve only come across two recipes that are appealing to me. Yours is one of them and I was already thinking that I should use only Ghiraardelli chocolate. I can’t wait to make some! 🙂

This looks delicious! I am going to try it for a cookie exchange this weekend. I’m not really a baker, so I was looking for something that I could manage. About how many pieces does one batch yield? I need to make 6 1/2 dozen, so I’m wondering how many batches I should plan on. Thanks a lot 🙂

I was wondering what size pan was used and what the yield is on this recipe?? It looks and sounds delicious and so simple!!
