This Memorial Day or Fourth of July, turn your patriotic heart up a notch with our red, white, and blue margarita (made two different ways).

Mixed with SVEDKA and a few other ingredients, this vodka margarita is sure to be the life of the party!

Sweet Star Spangled Vodka Margarita

Sweet Star-Spangled Vodka Margarita

Nothing says Happy Fourth of July or Memorial Day like a patriotic cocktail or two!

So, we whipped up a batch of our Sweet Star-Spangled Vodka Margaritas (two ways) for the fireworks-illuminated summertime occasions in the spirit of all things red, white, and blue.

During the summer months, we love to entertain our family and friends. Usually, we get together on Memorial Day or the Fourth of July for a cook-out.

Having the right type of alcohol is essential. Considering SVEDKA is a top ten spirit brand in the USA (Source: Adams 2015), I know it’s the right vodka to get any party started.

Imported from Sweden to the US,  SVEDKA is now the #1 imported vodka (Source: Adams 2015)!

This Memorial Day or Fourth of July, turn your patriotic heart up a notch with our red, white, and blue margarita. Mixed with SVEDKA and a few other ingredients, this vodka margarita is sure to be the life of the party! Sweet Star Spangled Vodka Margarita

SVEDKA helped put the bang in our Sweet Star-Spangled Vodka Margarita. It’s a vodka with a smooth, bold taste. It has a clear, crisp taste and easy mixability and versatility.

Plus, I love how they package their products. This SVEDKA Limited Edition Stars & Stripes party bottle fits right in with the patriotic theme.

Check out how I put together this patriotic margarita in two ways, using just a few ingredients!

How to make a patriotic cocktail:

1 serving

Ingredients:

  • 3 ounces of SVEDKA Limited Edition Stars & Stripes
  • 2 ounces of sweetened lime juice
  • 1 ounce of red Grenadine
  • 1 ounce of blue curaçao
  • 3 cups crushed ice
  • 1 white star-shaped candy

Directions:

This cocktail is made with layered frozen slushes for a festive red-and-blue look.

  1. For the red layer, add 1 1/2 cups crushed ice, 1 ounce grenadine, 1 1/2 ounces SVEDKA Limited Edition Stars & Stripes, and 1 ounce sweetened lime juice into a blender. Blend until smooth.
  2. Pour the red layer into a highball or Tom Collins glass, then place the glass in the freezer for 3–5 minutes to help the layers stay separated.
  3. For the blue layer, add 1 1/2 cups crushed ice, 1 ounce blue curaçao (or blue curaçao simple syrup for a lower-proof version), 1 1/2 ounces SVEDKA Limited Edition Stars & Stripes, and 1 ounce sweetened lime juice into a blender. Blend until smooth.
  4. Slowly pour or spoon the blue layer over the red layer.
  5. Garnish with white star-shaped candies and serve immediately.

Note: If you would like to add a white layer to this recipe, here is what you will need to do: For the white layer, blend 3/4 cup crushed ice with 2 ounces piña colada mix or coconut cream until slushy. Carefully spoon the white layer over the red layer. Return the glass to the freezer for another 2–3 minutes.

Drink responsibly, and never drink and drive

The second way you can make this Sweet-Star Spangled Vodka Margarita:

If you would like more of a white vodka margarita with a touch of red and blue, this version is for you!

Sweet Star Spangled Vodka Margarita

How do you plan to celebrate this holiday weekend? Hopefully, those plans include our Sweet Star-Spangled Vodka Margarita.

Regardless of how you celebrate, be safe and responsible! It will be a showstopper at your summer shindig.

How do you make margaritas slushies?

Grab a high-speed blender to create the perfect slush texture. It will break up the ice and give you that restaurant-quality margarita slushie you know and love.

What to rim the glass with?

So you can do a classic salt rim, leave it plain, or change it up. I like to add a little corn syrup around the edge, then dip the glass into Pop Rocks, a popping candy.

It gives this a real firecracker feel.

Can you substitute tequila for vodka in a margarita?

If you want a tequila-based margarita, go right ahead. Just swap it out for any of your favorite flavors or brands.

I loved using vodka because it has some flavor and will dress up the cocktail a bit.

Can I make a whole pitcher of margaritas?

Absolutely. Feel free to whip up a whole pitcher of margaritas to sip on.

Just pour ingredients into your blender, mix away, then pour into the glasses. Top with the red-and-blue slush and enjoy.
